LITERARY LATTE | SEASON 2 | EPISODE 1
S2 E1 – Bill Thompson – Kirkus Book Reviewer Shares Insider Perspective
S2 E1 – In this Season 2 opener Lynda is joined by the award-winning columnist, author, and Kirkus Book Reviewer Bill Thompson. For over 30 years, Bill was the book review editor, film critic and arts and travel columnist for the Charleston Post & Courier where he conversed with some of the most distinguished writers of our time. His book titled Art & Craft: Thirty Years on the Literary Beat is a collection of those columns. Each is a literary gem. Bill Thompson has interviewed such luminaries as Norman Mailer, Tom Wolfe, Joyce Carol Oates, and Paul Theroux. Still, he didn’t neglect the South. He was a catalyst for Southern local writers. Bill shares his insider perspective on the value of a book review for authors and for readers. He also shares how reviews are garnered and their importance in a cluttered book world. http://www.sojournerartoftravel.com/
